Tournament Overview
KTGPPSC 2026 is structured as a rigorous two-day academic championship. Day One focuses on qualification through three distinct competitive rounds, culminating in the announcement of semi-finalists. Day Two elevates the competition to the championship level, with semi-finals, finals, and a formal awards ceremony. The progressive structure ensures that the most well-rounded communicators advance at each stage.
The competition is designed to test multiple dimensions of public speaking skill — from carefully prepared presentations to rapid-response extemporaneous speaking and entirely impromptu delivery. This comprehensive format rewards competitors who excel in preparation, critical thinking, and composure under pressure.
Presentation Rounds
Competitors deliver prepared, sustainability-focused speeches supported by presentation slides. These rounds test the depth of preparation, research quality, and structured argumentation.
Extemporaneous Speaking
Students receive an unseen topic and a limited preparation window before delivering a structured speech. This round tests adaptability, analytical thinking, and on-the-spot communication skills.
Semi-Finals & Finals
Top competitors advance to championship-level rounds. The finals feature impromptu speaking — competitors receive a question and begin speaking immediately, with no preparation time allowed.
Awards Ceremony
A formal recognition event honoring outstanding achievement across all levels — from participants to finalists and champions. Trophies, medals, and certificates are presented to deserving competitors.

Saturday, July 25, 2026 — Qualification Day
Day One is the qualification stage of KTGPPSC 2026. All registered competitors participate in three competitive rounds across the day. Performance across all three rounds — Presentation Round One, Presentation Round Two, and the Extemporaneous Speaking Round — determines which competitors advance to Day Two as semi-finalists. The day concludes with the official announcement of advancing competitors.

Sunday, July 26, 2026 — Championship Day
Day Two is the championship stage of KTGPPSC 2026, reserved for semi-finalists, judges, staff, and invited guests. The day opens with orientation for advancing competitors, moves through the semi-finals and finals rounds, and concludes with a formal awards ceremony. Only competitors who advanced from Day One's qualification rounds are eligible to compete. Family, friends, and supporters are warmly welcome to attend as spectators.

What to Expect: Competition Formats Explained
KTGPPSC 2026 features three distinct speaking formats across the two days. Each format tests a different dimension of communication skill, and understanding what to expect in each round will help competitors and supporters prepare accordingly. Below is a detailed breakdown of every competitive format used in the championship.
🎤 Presentation Rounds (Day One)
Competitors deliver fully prepared speeches focused on sustainability topics. Speeches are supported by presentation slides submitted in advance. Judges evaluate the quality of research, clarity of argument, structure, and delivery. These rounds reward thorough preparation, compelling storytelling, and professional stage presence. Each competitor delivers two independent presentation speeches on Day One.
⏱️ Extemporaneous Speaking (Day One & Semi-Finals)
Competitors receive an unseen topic and are given a limited preparation period before delivering their speech. No external resources, phones, or assistance are permitted during preparation. This format tests a competitor's ability to think critically, organize ideas rapidly, and communicate clearly under time pressure. Extemporaneous Speaking is used in both the Day One qualification round and the Day Two semi-finals.
🎯 Impromptu Speaking (Finals Only)
The championship final round. Competitors receive a single question or prompt and must begin speaking immediately, with no preparation time whatsoever. This format is the ultimate test of composure, quick thinking, vocabulary, and communication instinct. Only finalists who advance through the semi-finals compete in the impromptu final round.
⚖️ Judging Standards
All rounds are evaluated by experienced and trained judges using a standardized rubric. Judges assess communication clarity, organizational structure, delivery and vocal variety, content depth and accuracy, and overall impact on the audience. Judges' decisions are final and binding across all rounds of the championship.
🏅 Awards & Recognition
Recognition is provided at multiple levels of achievement. All registered participants receive a certificate of participation. Semi-finalists receive medals and certificates of distinction. Finalists receive trophies and finalist certificates. Champions receive the GPPSC Korea Regional Champion trophy, a gold medal, and a special certificate of excellence.

Arrival Time
All competitors should arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of each competition day. Late arrivals may forfeit their speaking slot. Plan ahead for parking and campus navigation.
Dress Code
Business Casual or Formal Attire Recommended. Competitors are expected to present themselves professionally throughout both days of the competition.
